Trip was born in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. He then spent over twenty years in Middleburg, Virginia and moved to Key West in the mid-80’s. As a graduate of Fine Arts and Art Education at the University of Maryland, he kept a very keen eye on the details and aesthetics of real estate.
Trip has sold real estate for over twenty-five years in Key West, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Key West has proven to be a challenging market as compared with expensive horse farms in Middleburg. He met that challenge head-on as the second home he sold was a Key West record. He continued to break his own records year after year.
Real estate is a full-time commitment for Trip and he loves to market all types and sizes of properties – “From Cottages to Castles”. He takes pride in the fact that he has a ‘sixth sense’ in matching people with the perfect property. Stability, professionalism and knowledge made him the number one agent in Key West for many years.
Trip has restored and lived in several famous historic homes here in Old Town Key West and believes in the continued character of our special island. He served four terms on the board of The Old Island Restoration Foundation and as chairman of the House and Garden Tours. This community is important to him and he has single handedly “imported” a lot of friends and acquaintances from around the country and abroad to purchase special homes here on our island.
Real estate requires a broad understanding of the market and Trip maintains a high level of focus by staying current on major issues. In addition to selling real estate in Key West, he also sells real estate all over the country through referrals.
When Trip is not selling real estate, he finds time to travel, do design work and enjoy his homes in Western Michigan, North Carolina & Old San Juan. He foxhunts and enjoys classic boating as much as time will allow.
