I was born and raised in Arkansas. I left for New Orleans where I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tulane University. I also studied in the MBA program at Southern Methodist University. I moved around the country while working in operations management with Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Vie de France. I’ve called New Orleans, Texas, Chicago, New York, Hoboken, and Baltimore home and have purchased and sold real estate in several of these locales.
I began visiting Key West in the early 80’s to escape those cold Chicago winters. In 1995, I moved to the island and I began selling real estate in 1996.
My partner and I completed the renovation of a large historic property that we call home along with a few feline friends that allowed us to live in “their place”. I’ve graduated from the vegetable gardens that I grew “up north” to orchids, tropical fruit trees, bananas and native butterfly plants here in paradise. It always amazes me how quickly things grow in our warm, sunny climate.
I serve on the boards of local organizations including the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, the Key West Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Community Church. My partner and I also support local arts and charities. And we support Last Stand, GLEE, Reef Relief, the National Wildlife Federation, the Audubon Society, and Habitat for Humanity. I purchased my first hybrid car in 2001 and participated in a green living conference in San Francisco.
We have travelled to Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. We owned property in Costa Rica and have helped several friends and clients purchase property there as well. I have also participated in international real estate conferences in Europe and Asia and resort real estate symposiums in Mexico and San Francisco. I earned a Transnational Referral Certification which gives me access to a network of certified agents world-wide.
